Welcome to Our Community

This is a space to share your story, ask advice and support others who have lost someone they care about to suicide.

The Support After Suicide Community brings together people who are bereaved by suicide and living in Australia to meet and support one another. Members can discuss issues that are important to them and meet others who understand their experience.

We've also developed a range of information sheets which may be helpful. Topics include: What is Grief?, Suicide and Grief, About Suicide and Communicating with Children.

If you would like to know more about some of the policies and procedures we have in place, please read our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

The community is managed by Support After Suicide, a program of Jesuit Social Services.

News & Events

Our May Brothers and Sisters evening is scheduled for next Thursday, May 23 from 7 to 9pm.

Support After Suicide offers a monthly Mindfulness & Meditation evening for people bereaved by suicide. Even if you are not familiar with mindfulness and meditation, these evenings will introduce self-care tools that anyone can try. Just sitting quietly with others who have been through a similar loss can help counter feelings of isolation that often follow the suicide of someone close.
Our May self-help bulletin, with links to recommended resources, is set out below. Also please download the attached as a PDF file.

Our May Men's Program is scheduled for next Thursday May 9 from 7 to 9pm.
