Our April Men's Program is scheduled for Thursday April 13 from 7 to 9pm.
Introducing our April Men's Program Guest Speaker; Glen Poole
Glen is a men’s health and wellbeing consultant from the UK who relocated to Australia in 2015 and founded the Stop Male Suicide project. The Stop Male Suicide project is in the business of helping people to take action to stop male suicide. They host talks, seminars and workshops in every State and Territory in Australia. In 2016, Stop Male Suicide partnered with the peak body for men’s health, The Australian Men’s Forum, to publish a paper on the case for developing male-friendly approaches to suicide prevention. In March, Stop Male Suicide co-hosted the National Men’s Health conference in Sydney and facilitated two sessions featuring leading experts and academics in the male suicide prevention field including Pete Shmigel, the CEO of Lifeline; Gus Worland, the host of ABC’s three-part series on male suicide, Man Up; and former junior world boxing champion, Joe Williams, who is a mental health and suicide prevention ambassador. In November, the Stop Male Suicide project is hosting the first National Australian Male Suicide Prevention Conference.
I am sure that Glen will be an amazing speaker. He has a wealth of knowledge and I am sure that our discussion on the night, will be incredibly insightful.
