Hello and welcome to this community. I'm the Manager of Support After Suicide. I hope you can make your way around the site and find some helpful posts and make some contributions. If you're having…
Hi all. I went along to the opening night last night. It's a great piece of theatre, well written, well played, and obviously produced with much care and attention. What got me in initially was the simple stage and John Martyn's Solid Air playing in the background. Solid Air is Martyn's brilliant song about his friend, Nick Drake, who took a fatal overdose whilst depressed, aged 26. Whether you know this backstory or not, the music itself is enough to lure you into the play's key theme: adjusting to life after the death of a loved one through suicide. The play is powerful and based around the stories of real people. The setting is a regular weekly writing skills group run by a woman who's brother suicided. It leads to a performance of the writing output from 3 participants. Along the way they challenge and support each other to cross to new futures. Go see it, if you can. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
