Support After Suicide
Looking at the care provided to someone before they took their own life
We are looking to make a contribution to the Royal Commission into Mental Health in Victoria. We have an online survey to gather your experiences of the support given to someone before they took their own life - particularly the health and mental health systems.
We would like you to respond to the survey if:
- you are over 18 years of age
- your loved one died less than 5 years ago in Victoria
- and you have knowledge of the care they received.
The survey takes about 20 minutes. Here's a LINK…

We heard today that we have another year's funding
Along with other programs funded under the National Suicide Prevention Strategy we have another year's funding - to June 2015.
We'd like to be more secure than that - but we're really pleased with this.
We can continue supporting people who have lost a loved one to suicide.
Here's the latest edition of our newsletter, Day by Day.

Over 550 people walked together - it was a very good day - a good atmosphere together and we were blessed with great weather.
(One disappointment was the poor sound system - we're sorry about this and we have plans in place already to make sure things go better next year.)

Losing a Parent As An Adult

Counsellors at Support After Suicide have certainly been getting this message from clients of this service. As a result we are considering holding an evening for adults bereaved by the suicide of a parent and are looking for expressions of interest. If you would be interested in coming along to a discussion evening…
